New here? Start with this.

idaWorks is a suite of apps that share one account and one team. Set your account up once below, then follow the guide for the app you are using. Can't find what you need? Email us and a real person will reply.

Step One

Set up your account

You only do this once. Your account, organisation, and team carry across every idaWorks app.

1

Create your account

Sign up with your work email and verify it. Your free workspace includes one member seat and unlimited guests — no credit card needed.

2

Set up your organisation

Your organisation holds your projects, templates, and people. Everything you create lives inside it, kept separate from every other organisation.

3

Invite your team

Members take a paid seat and create and manage work. Guests are free and unlimited — they review work and complete signoffs. Roles control what each person can see and do.

Step 2idaWorks QA App

Getting started with idaWorks QA

Checklists, digital signoffs, and QA reporting

idaWorks QA is the app for inspection checklists and digital signoffs. If you signed up to run QA on a project — site inspections, compliance checks, handover signoffs — this is where you start.

What you'll find in idaWorks QA

Projects

Your work, organised as a hierarchy of folders and items that mirrors the real world — sites, buildings, systems, or assets.

Templates

Reusable checklists. Build an inspection once, then apply it anywhere the same checks are needed.

My Signoffs

A personal queue of everything waiting on you to review or approve, across every project you are part of.

Reports

Progress and compliance reporting across your projects, with a full audit trail behind every signoff.

Your first project, step by step

Follow these in order the first time through. Most teams finish their first inspection within an hour.

  1. 1

    Create your first project

Start in Projects and add a project for the job you are inspecting. Give it the name your team already uses so it is easy to find.

  2. 2

    Build out the structure

Add folders and sub-folders that mirror the real thing — levels, zones, systems, or assets — then add the items that actually get checked.

  3. 3

    Add checklists to your items

Attach a checklist to the items that need inspecting. Each checklist holds the individual checks your team works through on site.

  4. 4

    Save a template

Once a checklist is right, save it as a template. From then on the same inspection can be applied across projects without rebuilding it.

  5. 5

    Assign reviewers and collect signoffs

Require signoff on the items that matter and assign who approves them. Reviewers find their queue under My Signoffs — guests can do this for free.

  6. 6

    Track progress and report

Use Reports to see how far along each project is, prove compliance, and export the record when a client or auditor asks for it.

Key terms

The words you'll see most often in idaWorks QA, in plain language.

Project
The top-level container for one job. Holds the whole hierarchy of folders and items you inspect.
Folder & item
The levels of your project structure. Folders group work; items are the things that get checked and signed off.
Checklist
The list of checks attached to an item. Your team fills these in as the work is inspected.
Template
A saved, reusable checklist. Applying a template keeps recurring inspections consistent across projects.
Signoff
A recorded approval on an item. Timestamped and attributed to the person who gave it, so the audit trail holds up.
Member & guest
Members take a paid seat and create and manage work. Guests are free and unlimited — they review and sign off.

idaWorks QA questions

I have never used idaWorks — where should I start?

Create your account, then create one small project and add a single checklist to it. Working through one real inspection end to end is the fastest way to understand how projects, checklists, and signoffs fit together.

What's the difference between a checklist and a template?

A checklist lives on one item in one project. A template is a saved, reusable version of that checklist that can be applied wherever the same inspection is needed.

How do I structure a project?

Mirror the real world. Use folders and sub-folders for the way your site or asset is already divided, and make the things that actually get inspected the items at the bottom.

Where do I find work that is waiting on me?

My Signoffs collects everything assigned to you for review or approval across every project, so you do not have to hunt through projects to find it.

Do reviewers need a paid seat?

No. Guests review work and complete signoffs for free, and you can invite as many as you need. Only members who create and manage work take a paid seat.

Can I export my results?

Yes. Reports cover progress and compliance across your projects and can be exported as a PDF for clients, auditors, or your own records.

More Apps

More idaWorks apps are on the way

idaWorks is built as a suite. New apps share the same account, organisation, and team you set up above — so when one arrives, there is nothing new to configure and its getting started guide will appear on this page.

Accounts, access, and your data

Account & access

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. Your free workspace starts immediately with one member seat and unlimited guests, and it does not expire.

How do I invite my team?

Invite people to your organisation by email from inside the app. Guests are free and unlimited, so most teams only need one paid member seat to get going.

I forgot my password — what now?

Use the password reset link on the login screen and follow the email we send you. Account passwords must be at least 16 characters.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email admin@idaworks.co.nz with what you expected, what happened, and a screenshot if you have one. We read every message and aim to reply within two business days.
